YOU ARE THE BEST ADVERTISER TO YOUR SMALL BUSINESSI read somewhere that it takes about three months before things pick up in a small business. Of course, that doesn't come without a lot of work put into it. Since my update last month things have picked up this month. There have been TONS of wins, TONS of opportunities, and TONS of memorable moments. As mentioned before, I've been putting a lot of work into marketing my business in person. To this day I still spend $0 on advertising and I likely will keep it that way until who knows when. As a small business owner, "you" are the greatest asset to your business, and "you" are the best person to be advertising your business. Examples of me sharing my business with people: - When I am out shopping and happen to pick up a conversation with a stranger, I mention my business - When I am giving things away for free (spring cleaning), I mention my business. - When I handed out my son's birthday party invitations to his friends at school, I added my business card to every invite. - I went and worked two in-person venues and shared about my business. - I've been slowly telling people I've worked with in the past about my business (and some current people I work with too). - I've gone and actively searched for marketing opportunities where I had an article written about my business from AYI Connection (https://www.ayiconnection.com/). You can read the article here. -- (MY FAVORITE MARKETING OPPORTUNITY THIS MONTH) I've also found a really sweet bakery (Always Yours Bakery) in Castro Valley to do a Father's Day Collaboration with (I feel so blessed by this - THANK YOU NATALIE :)) - BTW she has the BEST sweets in the Bay Area. Not too sweet, delicately delicious (especially her Macarons), and her bakery is photogenic in every way! We are currently doing a collaboration where I have a limited edition Father's Day Cards and stickers available in her shop to go along with her Father's Day Macarons (pre-orders coming soon - you won't want to miss out - trust me they are way cute and delicious)! LET'S LOOK AT THE DATA FOR MONTH 3 on ETSYSo as I mentioned in the past my only platform for selling my work is on Etsy. I have some custom in-person orders from a variety of friends, but other than that (and the previous in person venue events) - Etsy is the main source. So - as always - here is the data for Month 3 on Etsy (May 2023):
CELEBRATING THE WINSThis month (May 2023) I've had SO MANY small wins:
Doing custom work for my friends I also found a niche that became a HUGE hit in my shop. This really helped jump my sales and views into my shop! LESSONS LEARNEDThis past month has taught me a lot about my products.
